Forest mitigation is an aspect of mountain living that many home owners are far behind on. This healthy thinning of the forest can help the fight against forest fires and improve overall vegetation and wildlife diversity. In the last 100-150 years, wildfires have been suppressed after the Euro-American settlement to a degree that most forests are overgrown. Now these forests are at high risk for a severe burn.
The general goal of forest mitigation is to reduce the available fuel in an area and increase the health of the forest ecosystem.
The spread of pine beetle in our community has become quite extensive. We understand that infected trees can be difficult to pinpoint, and yet it's vital to remove these trees before the beetles fly in late spring.
We are happy to come walk your property to determine the extent of beetle activity, then provide a quote for tree removal.
All trees currently infected with beetle will need to be chipped, removed from the property, or wrapped in 6-mil plastic for 4-6 weeks.

Chips can be piled for future use or broadcast across your forest floor for natural decomposition.
We will provide a group rate for any neighborhood that wants to do a multi-home chipping project. All homes need to have their piles ready for chip in the same stretch of days.
